About Us
Legacy Records was founded in 2009 by King Jarek. We specialize in the art of making music to withstand the test of time, not just for the moment. The word Legacy is one that has a definition of “something that is handed down from the past, as from ancestor to predecessor” and we will hand deliver our special brand of music to the public so that one day you will be able to hand it down to your predecessors as well. We have a variety of music that will reach the masses.
David Sweatte knew that music would be an intricate part of his life early on. While growing up in the church, he was able to learn how to play numerous instruments and also has gained a great appreciation for the art of composing music. Being around his brothers, who were all MC’s he was able to develop a love for writing hip hop beats as well. During his maturation phase in his musical career he has lived in the west coast and has picked up the west coast influence and was able to also incorporate that into the music. Throughout all of this, there is only one word that can describe what D Sweat brings to the table in this industry. That word is VERSATILITY.
